Araucaria angustifolia (Parana Pine)
A beautiful stately conifer originating from Chile, Argentina & Brazil. A cone shaped specimen tree with dark green pointed foliage. Related to the Monkey Puzzle tree, Araucaria angustifolia, (also known as Parana pine, Brazilian pine or Candelabra tree) is a critically endangered species in the conifer genus Araucaria.
Grows 3m tall by 2m wide in the first 10 years in good conditions.
Ginkgo biloba Fastigiata
Improved selection of Maidenhair Tree. Deciduous tree, strong golden Autumn colour. Slow growing column with an enormous number of branchlets. It is a male clone so therefore doesn't produce fruit. Excellent specimen for smaller sites.
Grows to 2.5m high x 1m wide in the first 10 years.
Pinus thunbergii (Japanese Black Pine)
Beautiful and versatile pine, used in oriental gardens, bonsai and topiary work in Japan for many centuries. Distinct white buds, dark green needles and rugged framework. Very hardy, doing well in poor, sandy conditions.
Grows to 3-3.5m high x 1.5-2m wide in the first 10 years.
Taxodium distichum (Swamp Cypress)
A strikingly beautiful conifer and the most suitable for wet soils. A deciduous tree, with fine, fern-like foliage turning a spectacular yellow and orange-brown Autumn colour. New foliage is fresh green. Produces root protrusions known as 'Cypress Knees', which rise above the ground when planted in or near water.
Grows to 5m high x 2.5m wide in the first 10 years.
