A more compact form of Japanese Box, this small shrub has glossy emerald green leaves. Ideal for low hedging, trimming into round topiary shapes and as a mass planting to act as a groundcover. Suitable for sub-tropical and also cold temperate climates.

Grows to 50cm high x 1m wide in the first 10 years

Buxus microphylla var. Japonica (Japanese Box)

An attractive box with small, rounded, dark green leaves. It can be trimmed into a perfect hedge or pruned into topiary shapes. Suitable for sub-tropical climates as well as colder regions. 

Grows to 1.5m tall x 1.2m wide in the first 10 years.

Buxus sempervirens (English Box)

Slow growing evergreen shrub with small, dense, dark green foliage that is ideal for hedging or clipping into topiary shapes. Excellent hedge for traditional formal gardens. Well suited to tubs and containers.
