    Fast growing, dense conical tree of attractive green-gold foliage. The Leyland Cypress group are ideal as a windbreak, screen or trimmed hedge. Extremely hardy, doing well in the harshest conditions. Has a good tolerance to soil salinity. As with all Leyland Cypress, Castlewellan Gold must be trimmed to size when plants start to compete with each other to avoid stress on the trees. 

    Grow to 6-7m high x 3m wide in the first 10 years.

    A beautiful conifer with soft yellow foliage changing to lime-yellow in Winter. Ferngold has a dense conical shape and is extremely hardy. Easily pruned. Ideal hedge or windbreak.

  • Cupressocyparis leylandii Leighton Green

    Cupressocyparis leylandii Leighton Green (640x427)

    Vigorous conical tree of dark green foliage, the fastest of all Leyland Cypress. It has now established itself as a very hardy windbreak, screen, or as a dense Victorian Era trimmed hedge. One of only a few conifers that tolerates high soil salinity. Must be trimmed to size in Spring to avoid competition stress for water and nutrients.

    Grows to 7-8m high x 3-4m wide in the first 10 years.

    Medium to large conical to broadly columnar tree, becoming broad crowned with age. Foliage dark green. Often used for Victorian Era hedges and windbreaks for larger properties. Suitable in coastal conditions. Also known as Western District, Lambert or Horizontal Cypress.

    Grows to 5-6m high x 4m wide in the first 10 years

    Dense conical tree of blue-green fine foliage. A hardy, very popular formal screen or trimmed hedge. A superior form of Bhutan Cypress.

    Grows to 3-4m high x 1.5 wide in the first 10 years.

    Thuja plicata (Western Red Cedar)

    Fast growing ornamental tree of pyramidal shape. Being dark green it makes an excellent specimen, hedge or screen. It withstands regular pruning very well and can be hard pruned back to bare wood. Very hardy cool climate tree.

    Grows to 4-5m high x 2m wide in the first 10 years.

    Tall growing narrow conical to columnar form of the Western Red Cedar. Dark green foliage, branches ascending, densly arranged. Excellent specimen, privacy screen or windbreak where space is limited. It withstands regular pruning very well and can be hard pruned back to bare wood.

    Grows to 4-5m high x 1.5m wide in the first 10 years.
